Paul Neff

| December 18, 2014 3:00 AM

1959-2014

On December 4th, 2014 Paul Lawrence Neff was called up to heaven by the good Lord to teach the angels how to give hugs, wear bib overalls, grow a sasquatch-style beard, and drink Pendleton. Things he was known to excel at over his lifetime. Heaven gained an extraordinary Father, Grandfather, and Friend!

Paul was born on May 13th, 1959 to Alois "Louie" and Gertrude "Gertie" (Von Moos) Neff. He was raised in a Swiss family on the Neff Farm northeast of George. He worked on the family farm his whole life, learning to farm from his dad and working alongside his two older siblings, Mary Kay and Little Louie, as a youngster. Paul started taking over the farm operation from his father in late 80's and in the early 90's after his mother's death. Paul was a loving father who shared his love of farming and life with his sons Anton and Joe as they grew. At the time of Paul's passing he was transitioning his son, Joe, into the main farm operator.

Paul enjoyed numerous hobbies over the years such as shooting and collecting guns, going on ATV rides with his lifelong friends, hunting, muscle cars (especially his orange Challenger), but his favorite thing to do was spend time with family and friends. In the last couple years Paul really enjoyed spending time with his old lady Cherie Escure, the two enjoyed taking trips to the Oregon coast, the Swiss park in Bonney Lake, and to Paul's place in Montana. Paul never met a stranger and could talk to anyone for five minutes and have a new friend for life. He was a big man with an even bigger heart. Most people viewed him as a big teddy bear who loved people young and old, from all walks of life.

Paul is survived by his Old Lady, Cherie Escure; his oldest son and his girlfriend, Alois Anton Neff (Hilary Ziegler) their daughter Amelia "Millie" Neff; youngest son and his girlfriend, Joseph Johan Neff (Valerie Knodell); his sister Mary Kay Neff (Daniel Castellanos) and her three sons Matt Wilson, Adam Wilson and Nik Wilson; step-daughter, Katina Neff and her daughter Kacie. Paul is also survived by Cassie (Jason) Bushman and their daughter Kloie, Brittany Bowman, Chad Bowman, Lacey (Donnie) Tebow and their two daughters Kayla and Brooklyn.

Paul is preceded in death by his mother Gertrude "Gertie" Neff, Father Alois "Louie" Neff, his brother Louie Neff, his cousin Joey Neff and best friend Jimmy Escure.

Per Paul's wishes, the family will hold a celebration of life service on May 9th, 2015. The time and place to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family asks that you lend helping hand to a friend or someone in need whenever you have the chance, in the memory and spirit of Paul.
