MOSES LAKE - Big Bend Community College (BBCC) head volleyball coach Steve Duncan, 25, was found dead in his home at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, announced in a press release by the college.

Initial findings show no signs of foul play, according to law enforcement officials.

"Steve's death is a devastating loss for Big Bend," BBCC President Terry Leas said in an email to students and employees. "He was liked and respected by students and staff. He will be missed by the young women who played for him and by college staff who worked with him."

"This difficult time demands that we come together to support one another while we try to make sense of the unthinkable," Leas said.

Duncan was an assistant at Central Washington University before taking the job at Big Bend. He coached Big Bend to an 18-18 record this season.

He is the founder of the Holwegner Classic Volleyball Tournament, which is an outdoor doubles volleyball tournament that raises funds for young children who have life threatening diseases, according to a press release from the college.
