Moses Lake Wrestling Club wins team title in Spokane

SPOKANE - Nearly 1,000 wrestlers from all over the country descended upon the Spokane Convention Center on Nov. 22 to take part in The Tour of America Northwest Bigfoot Battle. The Moses Lake Wrestling Club sent 36 of its own athletes to see how they stacked up against the best of the best in one of the biggest tournaments the Northwest Region and USA Wrestling has to offer. After facing some of the toughest brackets in the sport and putting their skills to the ultimate test on the mat, The MLWC came away with the first place team title.

Many of the club's members helped put up points to secure the coveted title as well as placing individual names on the elite Future Olympian Ranking List. The results were as follows.

*Bantams (Ages 6-7): Calob Martinez 5th, William Bennett DNP

*Bantam True Beginner (Ages 5-7): Brian Naranjo 1st, Brenden Gomez 2nd, Duane Zamora 5th, Ricky Alcaraz 4th, Royce Reffett 4th, Eli Anderson 4th, Ian Anderson 4th, Tyler Moody 4th, Joseph Serrano 2nd

*Intermediate (Ages 8-9): Dylan Martinez 6th, Ashley Naranjo DNP, Bianca Johnson DNP, Jayden Adame DNP, Andreck Johnson DNP

*Intermediate True Beginner (Ages 8-9): Anthony Pichardo 1st, Dayton Regan 2nd

*Novice (Ages 10-11): Maximus Zamora 2nd, Hunter White 3rd, Benjamin Medina 4th, Karson Voss 1st, Jeremiah Martinez DNP, Jared Naranjo DNP

*Novice True Beginner (Ages 10-11): CJ Balderas 1st, Josiah McNelly 2nd, Camron Regan 4th, Gavyn Rodriguez 2nd

*Middle School (Ages 12-14): Jose Galindo 4th, Sebastian Rodriguez 6th, Levi Carlos 6th, Jonathan Tanguma DNP, Cruz Vasquez DNP, Gabe Garza DNP

*Middle School True Beginner (Ages 12-14): Riley Burgess 1st, Caleb Lawson 2nd

*Honorable Mention: Everett Ashley of Freedom Wrestling Academy and MLWC Practice Team Member 1st
