Minimum wage debate
We are at the 10 dollar minimum wage rate now and more and more states are joining in. I think that if all the 48 states go to a higher minimum wage by an act of government this means that we can all afford a higher grocery bill. I believe the more money I make the more I spend. To be forced to spend more because of act of government raising the minimum wage is not a smart way to go about getting higher wages.
I have been thinking about this for a while and I have found an opening or a bargaining idea to tell our congressmen. The rich want lower taxes and they have the lobbyists to do the work for them in congress. The chance of the rich getting lower taxes is high and in the past we hoped that they would spread the wealth. They only spread the wealth to their CEO's not the people.
We want the rich to spread the wealth to the work force. In the State of the Union President Obama said to write a bill to have the work force invest in bonds as part of their retirement. I believe that the money we earn that we don't spend and goes toward our wellbeing counts as a part of our earning. Benefits as health care and retirement will raise wages by companies not the government. This will not raise our grocery bill and move us forward by raising our minimum wage. We bargain with time limits to have this done by companies that want lower taxes. Lower taxes will happen and we need to jump on the wagon.
