Ephrata natives to compete on Survivor

EPHRATA - A father-daughter pair with Ephrata roots will be competing for a $1 million dollar grand prize on Season 29 of the CBS hit reality show "Survivor."

At 8 p.m. Sept. 24 Dale and Kelley Wentworth will be competing against 16 other castaways on "Survivor: San Juan Del Sur - Blood vs. Water."

Dale and Kelley are longtime Ephrata residents, as Dale works as a farmer in Ephrata and Kelley grew up in the town. She recently moved to Seattle and works as a marking manager.

Both Dale and Kelley are confident they have what it takes to take home the $1 million dollar grand prize.

"All my life I have been faced with everything possible; weather, breakdowns, et cetera. My family and I can usually find a way to improvise a way to survive and still be able to achieve my goals," reads Dale's cast biography.

This season of Survivor will feature pairs of loved one competing against one another.

Despite having to compete against one another, Dale and Kelley are embracing the experience as an opportunity to become closer in their relationship.

"There is no perfect word to describe how it would be to play Survivor with my Dad. We've had many hang ups and downs over the past few years and I would love this unique opportunity to improve our father/daughter bond. He is truly the only person I would want to do this with," reads Kelley's cast biography.

This season of Survivor will feature a former professional baseball player, the winner of the 2013 Miss Michigan pageant, firefighters, police officers, models and actors.

Not only will Dale and Kelley be competing against each other and the other castaways, they will also be competing against mother nature, as the show was filmed on San Juan del Sur, an island off the coast of Nicaragua.
