At age 16, Bill tried to enlist into the Navy, only to be told to return in two years! He served as a gunner on the USS Hobby and fought in the Midway Island Battles.

In 1969, Bill moved his wife and four younger children from Santa Rosa, CA to Moses Lake, WA. He wanted a different kind of life for his family. And it was! We about froze to death that first winter in our old farmhouse. It was one of the coldest on record and we had never seen snow!

He somehow bought 60 acres, a harrow bed and a welder. To work he went. He supported his family many years with his welding know how. Bill loved the outdoors especially the mountains, usually on a horse or horse-trading, and always with a dog by his side.

There will be a memorial service on September 13, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church at 746 S. Ironwood Dr., Moses Lake, WA 98837. For questions please email mojo56.55@gmail.com.
