EPHRATA - A 71-year-old Ephrata man died Thursday night in a rollover crash about five miles south of Ephrata.
About 9:30 p.m., James Robert Tinley was driving a 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe south in the 10500 block of Dodson Road Northwest. He reportedly drove across the center line into the northbound lane and then overcorrected, causing the vehicle to spin off the road and roll one and a half times, coming to rest on its top, according to the sheriff's office. Tinley was initially pinned in the vehicle.
Tinley was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash but the sheriff's office reported he was wearing the seatbelt improperly. Alcohol is suspected to have played a role in the incident.
