MOSES LAKE - The annual Cowboy Breakfast returns to downtown Moses Lake Friday - officially signaling the start of Grant County Fair festivities.

The event, sponsored by the Moses Lake chapter of Kiwanis, Moses Lake Roundup and Moses Lake Business Association, has been the longtime kickoff for the Grant County Fair and the Moses Lake Roundup Rodeo.

About 300 people participated in last year's Cowboy Breakfast, according to organizers.

A hot breakfast of pancakes, sausage and eggs - which is being provided by Michael's on the Lake - will be available from 7 to 10 a.m. in Sinkiuse Square. Breakfast is $9 for adults, $5 for children ages 3 to 12 and free for children younger than 3.

Proceeds from the breakfast will support various Kiwanis projects in town, event chair Ted DeWitt said.

Dale Roth of Dale Roth productions will provide the music during the event. There will also be several activities for children, including the PeeWee Stampede which starts at 9 a.m.

Girls can participate in the Little Miss Moses Lake Roundup Queen contest and boys can try their hand at dummy roping and bronc riding on stick horses during the breakfast as well.

The contests are open to kids ages 9 and younger.

There will also be a performance by Rockin' B Cloggers.
