Reader shows support for Garth Dano's candidacy

Grant County voters have a compelling role in the functions of the law and enhancing Grant County government. Choosing who shall serve in the Office of the Grant County Prosecutor requires discretion and discernment. Having experience in the law and leadership are important considerations. Concepts of protection, justice, and freedom are critical considerations. However, every voter and citizen should recognize that the ultimate power of our legal system belongs to the people. Our jury system - being judged by our peers - provides no greater evidence of this essential value in the American legal system. A prosecutor should always remember that they are subject to the power of and the rights of the citizen, the common man. Garth Dano understands and has practiced law with this fundamental truth.

Having known Garth Dano, and his family, for many years, I am compelled to endorse his candidacy. He has many years of respected professional legal and leadership experience with many forums. He respects the court at all levels, as well as the individual legal rights of the young and the old. In a time when the interests of the elderly are being subjected to abuse and discrimination, his advocacy and protection are acutely needed. His appreciation of due process rights - and their lawful adjudication before the courts - will not be compromised for political expediency or personal employment edification. Garth is a successful practicing attorney - he is running for this position out of concern about and respect for our legal system and for the cause of true public service. Garth does not need a job. He needs the opportunity to further provide for all of our constitutional rights and the integrity of our legal system in Grant County. The citizens of Grant County will benefit by voting for Garth Dano.
