Patricia Lane
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and friend gently joined the choir of angels in Heaven on July 28th, 2014.
She was born on June 13, 1924 to Dewey and Mildred Ruggles in Pryor, Oklahoma little sister to Don and Bob. In junior high she moved to Three Forks, Montana where she met her boyfriend Wally Lane and "chased him until he caught her"! They were married on November 7, 1943 and celebrated 70 years of love last year.
Recently Wally wrote a note to his great grandchildren that will never get to know her. In his words...
"Pat and I fell in love when we were young teenagers. We have been in love for almost 75 years. Pat was beautiful, vivacious and very smart. She was valedictorian of her class. She was good at many things. She loved to sing and dance, was a cheerleader and starred in plays at school. She had a beautiful voice. On long car trips she lead songs with the kids for hours and hours. She was in the school band. She was a wonderful mother. When she was 19 years old she went to California and helped the war effort by building boats in a shipyard. She was a rural mail carrier and was secretary/treasurer of her investment club for 25 years."
Pat loved children. Pat and Wally's family tree numbers 108 people with 9 children, 26 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and one great-great grand daughter on her way. She also loved her rose garden, her Catholic faith, reading, cooking, Block 40,being a 4H Leader and celebrating family whenever possible. Education was of great value to her. Her children received higher education and she and Wally started college funds for all their grand children.
In the end she loved and was loved. It's the best.
She was survived by her loving and devoted husband Wally. Her nine children: Mike (Marcia) Lane, Judy (Jim) Cleveland, Jon(Carol) Lane, Jan (Bill) Woodley, Cathie (Mike) Ball, Christie (John) Thomas, Jim (Sue) Lane, Dusty (Debbie) Lane, Bobby (Cathy) Lane. Along with all her Grands and Greats!
