Mattawa Chamber appreciative

At our July Chamber meeting, we discussed the success of "Taste the Wahluke Slope 2014" and even though it's long past, I wanted to convey my thanks (and the Chamber's) to several individuals and organizations who made it happen.

First, a thank you to the wineries (Desert Wind, Gilbert Cellars, Ginkgo Forest, Milbrandt Vineyards, Palencia Winery and Tagaris) for sharing their wonderful wine made from the grapes of the Wahluke Slope and to Jack and Dana Fox for grilling up a great dinner.

Another big thanks to Tom Hinde for helping so much with publicity for the event, securing raffle items, conducting the raffle, taking photographs and doing post publicity.

Thanks also to the Grant County Housing Authority and Red Apple Market for donating the water, ice, and crackers. Thanks to Bill McCaffrey for selling tickets, the only place to get tickets on a Sunday.

The event wouldn't have been possible without the work of Chamber members Maria Rosales and Tom Hinde who took care of a multitude of tasks and Gary Crowder, Lars Leland and Mike Thiede who also helped in many ways.

The biggest thanks goes to everyone who purchased tickets and bought wine at the event. To continue this and other events, I invite area businesses to join the Chamber.

And the Chamber would gratefully accept the assistance of any individuals who want to help with only this event. Again, thank you to all who helped make "Taste the Wahluke Slope 2014" another successful endeavor.
