OTHELLO - The Columbia Basin Health Association (CBHA), which serves the Royal City-Mattawa area, will have its CBHA Health Fair on Saturday, Aug. 9, at Kiwanis Park in Othello from 2-6 p.m

CBHA, together with other local community agencies, colleges and universities, will be on hand to present information on the services they provide and answer any questions people might have.

"We have teamed up with these agencies in the past and it has worked out very well," said Melva Zavala-Compos, CBHA Support Services supervisor. "Kiwanis Park is a very well shaded park with lots of walking paths, lawns, and play equipment for the children."

Personnel from the various participants will be on hand to distribute information and answer questions. CBHA Support Services will provide information about maternity support for expectant mothers.

"We also will be offering information about a new program called 'Parents as Teachers' that we have just begun offering," Zavala said.

Food will be served throughout the afternoon at no charge. Raffles will also be held for door prizes.

"Everyone had a great time last year and we look forward to another informative, fun event," Zavala said.

The CBHA will also be celebrating National Community Health Center Week August 10-16. They will be rotating a booth to all their sites throughout the week. There will be information about various aspects of staying well.
