Vote for Tom Dent for state representative

| August 1, 2014 6:00 AM

Like many other Columbia Basin people, my family moved here in the 1950s, taking advantage of the new irrigation system and the great farming opportunities. In our case, it was 1959. Growing up in the Columbia Basin was a great experience.

Currently running for public office is another Columbia Basin resident who shares the same great experience. That man is Tom Dent. He is running to win election as our next Washington state representative for District 13.

He is a leader and a pacesetter. He is an early riser and goes all day. He is not afraid to put in the effort that is necessary to serve others. He enjoys meeting people, listening and learning from them. He has friends and knows how to make friends. And yet, he knows that politics is not about friendship as much as it is about integrity, honesty and respect.

He has earned support of many current and past legislators and policy makers and can call upon them and ask for an appointment and they will see him. They will also listen to him. He can get things done for us.

He is able to make hard decisions when necessary and he is not afraid to live with his decisions.

He understands agriculture and knows what the Columbia Basin needs. He has a good vision for our future. For the past 20 plus years he has been giving away booklets on the Constitution and encouraging people to read them. He is absolutely committed to protecting both our Constitutional rights and our freedoms.

He has and will continue to work hard to ensure that the Columbia Basin remains a great place to live.

I am voting for Tom Dent for state representative. I am asking you to vote for him, too.
