Vote for Angus Lee

Sometimes we just get it wrong. I do anyway. I let myself get talked into being on a campaign committee to elect a guy I didn't know, to be elected Grant County prosecutor. I thought our opposing candidate was too young, too inexperienced to be qualified for the job. As things turned out, my guy lost and the guy I'd been convinced was under qualified won. He went on to prove himself not just capable but forward thinking, highly motivated and the best prosecutor Grant County has had in years. I was very wrong to dismiss him as too young to be qualified for the leadership position.

Now he is up for re-election. His opponent has been a local attorney for a long time. He may be a good lawyer, I don't know the man or his skill set. I do know I want aggressive prosecution of our area's criminals and good cooperation between the courthouse and all law enforcement. I have questions as to if that could continue if a lawyer who also defends criminals were to be elected.

This time I'm going to work to re-elect the guy who showed me I was wrong. He did it by proving himself to be far better qualified than his youth had implied. He has modernized every aspect of the prosecutor's office and has improved cooperation between all the relevant entities throughout central Washington.

I want to encourage voters to re-elect Angus Lee to be prosecutor. He proved me to be wrong and I'm glad he did. Semper Fi.
