The point of our previous letter may have been missed

The point of our letter and endorsement for Brent Bishop and Barbara Morgan in last weeks Herald may have been missed. It was not about their opposition or what they did or didn't do. It was about what Bishop and Morgan promise to do, want to do and what we believe they will do.

They will serve their neighbors by first learning what they think and what issues are important to them. Then they will carry their interests to GOP meetings on the county and state level.

When Precinct Committee Officers are elected they should be in contact with all the voters in their precinct by knocking on their door, email, postal mail and/or by phone. They should be compiling and keep a current list of who these voters are.

Their primary duty should be learning about them and keeping them informed on issues, events, meetings and activities. This is true grass roots from the bottom up.

If you have never heard from your Precinct Committee Officer, then you can infer that they do not know what you think. This is true of all PCOs in all Precincts.

If your PCO is elected to chairmanships of committees at the county or state level, they should be prepared to represent you and all party members in your neighborhood on these committees. They should carry your interests and issues to the next level. And they should also carry information from above back to their voters.

Brent Bishop in Wheeler 1 and Barbara Morgan in Moses Lake 7 have vowed to do this and are regarded as people who keep their word if they give their word. This is why we very much endorse them as PCOs in these two precincts.
