Moses Lake girls track starts 2-0

WENATCHEE - Moses Lake girls track and field defeated Wenatchee and Eastmont and now leads the Columbia Basin Big Nine at 2-0.

The Chiefs comfortably outscored the Panthers, 102-48, but narrowly edged the Wildcats, 77-73.

The Moses Lake boys lost to Wenatchee, 100-44. The score between the Chiefs and Wildcats was not available at press time.

Moses Lake was led by first place finishes by Alysha Overland in the 400 meters and Arlena Hannan in the 300 meter hurdles.

The team of Kayla Grigg, Caylah Lunning, Hannan and Overland also took first in the 4x100 relay.

Moses Lake also took first place in the 4x200 relay.

In the field events, Elly Johnson placed first in the discus and Heather Carbon placed first in the Pole Vault for Moses Lake.

Lunning and Selina Koon won the long jump and triple jump, respectively.
