William "Bill" Ace Grisham

| April 18, 2014 6:00 AM

William "Bill" Grisham was born in Rosedale, MS to Gladys Preeves McCalister and Ace Grisham.

He spent several years of his youth living on a riverboat with his Dad. He was "Golden Gloves" champion in boxing in Arkansas in 1949. He was also a lineman on the winning Russellville, AR high school football team. He joined the U.S. Air Force in December 1949 and served over 20 years until his retirement in December 1969. In the service, he worked on numerous kinds of aircraft and missiles. He traveled extensively and lived in many places all over the world during his military career, including Texas, Illinois, California, Japan, Missouri, North Africa, Moses Lake and Arizona. Of all the places he was stationed and lived, he loved the Moses Lake area and especially enjoyed the hunting and fishing. He settled in Moses Lake in 1969 after retiring from the Air Force.

He married his wife Janice M. Kitchen in July 1951. They both loved hunting and fishing. They also took their love of shooting to the "IHMSA" where they both repeatedly won highest honors for their accuracy. They also ran the local gun club for several years! Bill and Jan were married for more than 62 years. Bill worked locally at Basic American Foods for more than 22 years as an "A" mechanic and retired in 1993. Bill loved football and cheered for the Seattle Seahawks-he watched faithfully every Sunday all season long. He waited 37 years for the Seahawks to win the Super Bowl...but he made it!

At Bill's request, no services will be held.

Bill was loved by many family and friends and he will be terribly missed by all. His wife, Janice, will miss his humor and companionship and the love they had, which lasted a lifetime. His children will miss his smile and the morning chats around the kitchen table, the camping and hunting adventures, the special father they all cherished. They will miss his love of life and, most of all, his "bear hugs" that said "I will always love you!"
