BEVERLY — Engineers and analysts believe water pressure on the Wanapum Dam spillway may have contributed to a 65-foot crack in the structure.
Seismic activity, foundation settlement or uplift, activities at U.S. Army’s Yakima Training Center and spillway gate operation are not causes, according to a district statement released Wednesday. A final answer on the crack's cause isn't expected until June, according to story in today's Columbia Basin Herald.
