Charles Serpinas, affectionately called "Charley" by his family and friends was born on April 7, 1916, and went home to be with his Heavenly Father on March 31, 2014.

Charley was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was an honest and hard-working man. His success can be measured by his loving family and his exemplary being.

He enlisted in the Army during WW II and was stationed in Hawaii, where he met his love everlasting, Amy. Charley epitomized America's "Greatest Generation," with his love of and service to his country. During WW II he served in the Army in New Guinea, served in the Seabees, joined the Air Force, and retired in 1972. He was stationed at many military bases around the globe, where he made lifelong friends and had many wonderful experiences.

After he retired from the military and moved to Moses Lake, he worked at the Potholes and Moses Lake State Parks. He ended his working career with the Grant County Housing Department.

He enjoyed the great outdoors, and had a special appreciation for birds and, on occasion, raised and bred parakeets. He loved all kinds of music, especially polkas.

Charley is survived by his wife, Amy of 70 years, son Charles Serpinas Haiku, Maui; daughter Kathy Serpinas Minneapolis, MN; son Michael Serpinas Spokane WA; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
