MOSES LAKE - If you like barbecued meats, you will like LakeTown Landing in Moses Lake on September 21-22.

Third Avenue, from Alder to Cedar, will be closed to vehicle traffic and filled with participants from the Pacific Northwest BBQ Association.

The Moses Lake Business Association (MLBA) will host the third Basin BBQ Bash in LakeTown Landing, Moses Lake's downtown shopping district. Last year brought thousands to witness Pacific Northwest BBQ Association members compete in a number of categories.

BBQ weekend will include a car and bike show hosted by the Sickboy Greaser Club on Saturday, commercial and food vendors, live entertainment both days in Sinkiuse Square and a Kid's Zone.

There will also be a Wing Eating Contest sponsored by Schmiggitty Sauce and Nia Karson's Cheeseteaks, Wings & Things. You may sign up today or at the event. There is no cost to participate. And there will be a Taster's Choice Contest for chili and pulled pork.

Entertainment will include local bands Lake City Blues, Cover Story, Thief of Hearts and Free Beer Nuts.

The MLBA will raffle off three barbecuers, thanks to Lowe's, Home Depot, and Ace Hardware. Raffle tickets may be purchased during the event or in advance at Art Garden Pottery on Third Avenue in Moses Lake.

An expanded beer garden will include local breweries Ten Pin Brewing Co., St. Brigid's Brewery, Ancient Lakes Brewery from Quincy, Tri-Cities Brewery and Ice Harbor Brewing Co. There will be wine by Camas Cove Cellars of Moses Lake.

This is a family friendly event that will include a Kid's Zone with numerous activities including a Bounce House, kids' games and inflatable rides.
