Storm blasts through the Basin

MOSES LAKE - A lightning storm made its way through the Columbia Basin Sunday night.

Power was knocked out at homes in Moses Lake, Royal City, Warden and Ephrata, according to information provided by Grant County PUD.

Crews were working to restore power late Sunday. Power was back on for some homes and businesses in Moses Lake and Warden as of 10:45 p.m.

About 8 p.m., Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones told people to avoid going outside or driving until the storm passes.

Nearly two hours later, he announce some county roads were blocked or partially blocked by fallen trees or power lines.

There was no reports of storm-related injuries.
