Big Cups coming Saturday

| September 16, 2013 6:00 AM

ROYAL CITY - The next tournament at the Royal Golf Course will be the annual Harvest Open on Saturday, Oct. 12.

However, golfers can enjoy the Big Cups Tournament this Saturday. It will be the first playing of the tournament that features 9-inch cups.

Scoring conditions will be ideal for the Big Cups Golf Tournament, set for Sept. 15. Birdies and pars should be easy, even for the shakiest of golfers, playing 9-inch holes, which are double normal size.

"This is the one you have all been waiting for," Pro Randy Puetz said. "Our first Big Cups tournament."

There will be individual scoring, with no handicap required. The entry fee will be $25 per player. That will cover the cost of the course and prizes. There will be a special honey pot.

"So get a group or enter as a solo," Puetz said. "Let us know as soon as possible."
