Lisa Davis allowed to see grandchildren

RITZVILLE - Former Othello teacher Lisa Davis is allowed to see her grandchildren this week following a change to her release conditions at a pre-trial hearing Monday.
Davis, 48, was previously prohibited from contact with any minor males as part of her release, according to court documents.
Her attorney Patrick Earl, of Moses Lake, motioned to amend her conditions of release Monday in Adams County Superior Court to allow her to see her three grandchildren ages 4, 3 and 1, this week in the Tri-Cities.
Prosecutors objected to the motion, which was approved by visiting Judge Donald Schacht, former Walla Walla Superior Court judge.
Schacht required Davis be supervised by an adult who is aware of the charges against her.
Earl also requested a one-week continuance, extending the pre-trial hearing until next Monday, to "complete arrangement for evaluation."
Davis pleaded not guilty in July to molesting a 10-year-old boy who was her former student at Scootney Springs Elementary School in Othello. Prosecutors charged Davis with first-degree child molestation.
Davis was placed on administrative leave by the school district in May and resigned following the accusations, according to previous reports from the Columbia Basin Herald.
Her trial date is still scheduled for Oct. 15 in Ritzville.
