Reader thinks UN should declare problem in Syria

| September 6, 2013 6:00 AM

With respect to Syria, if there is such a world wide thinking that "Chemical Weapons" are a major problem, then let us see the United Nations General Assembly declare that every nation that is willing to commit troops towards removing the problems in Syria shall vote for such action, set up the combined military force necessary, and declare just what sort of a "protectorate government" shall be setup by the UN to administrate Syria for the next fifty years until such time that people there are trained from birth to give firm respect to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as having more importance than the teachings of any religion (including a religion that sanctions war against members of other religions). Only when the UN passes such a resolution, and starts setting up a multi-national force to deal with Syria, shall the President have authorization to have the United States join the multi-national force.

The declaration by the UN General Assembly would serve to deter Iran, Russia, North Korea, and others from taking any action. I am sure that with the Presidents obvious skills in foreign policy, and the administration's firm leadership with the United Nations that having the UN decide that elimination of "Chemical Weapons" in Syria, including UN "boots on ground" to search and remove weapons, should not be a major problem.

Let us also consider that some member nations of the UN, who supposedly are committed to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights have governments that recognize Islam as the basis of their government. That religion does not recognize the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Does anyone see a minor problem here?
