WARDEN - Hundreds of residents are expected to gather in downtown Warden Monday for the town's Labor Day celebration.

Community Days kicks off this year with a parade at 11 a.m., organizer Kayla Kight said.

"The parade goes down Main Street and then back up Ash," she said.

After the parade, participants head to Volunteer Park, near the parade route, to enjoy the rest of the Community Days celebrations, Kight said.

"The vendors in the park start at 1 p.m., which is basically right after the parade," she said. "We'll have food, music and games at the park."

Community Days is a free, family-friendly event, she said. There will be a rock-climbing wall and a bounce house for kids, along with other activities, Kight said.

Kight said she has been involved with planning Community Days for about four years, but the celebration goes back farther than that.

"As far as I know, they've had it every year," she said. "It's always held on Labor Day."

Community Days is a good way to get residents out and about.

"We try to encourage community involvement," she said. "It's a gathering for the community so people can get to know each other and have fun in Warden."
