Robert Patrick 'Pat' Reiley, Jr.

| October 25, 2013 6:00 AM

Our wonderful dad, brother, uncle, and a dear friend passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on September 16, 2013, in Moses Lake. Pat's last weekend was spent doing what he loved-traveling across the state with his son, watching his soccer matches, and visiting with family.

Born in Olympia on November 3, 1948 to Bob and Helen Reiley, Pat arrived three minutes after his twin sister. He was soon 'surrounded' by sisters when two more joined the family. At their house on the bay, Pat enjoyed boating, and was an avid water skier. He also loved the hunt for the exclusive geoducks at low tide. In high school, Pat lettered in track and cross country. As a teenager, Pat apprenticed as a finish carpenter with a neighbor master craftsman. After graduation, he attended the University of Washington, joining Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He transferred to Central Washington University, where he was elected student body president.

Pat made his home in Moses Lake. He loved being a father to his sons, Tucker and Rehn. He was so proud of his boys, encouraging them to develop their own unique talents and skills.

Artistic and talented, Pat loved architecture and design, and problem solving. As an inventor, he held three patents. Pat worked in the construction industry, and was the owner of Finishwerkes, LLC, specializing in high end finish work.

Pat was a loyal friend to many, and made new friends wherever he went. He had a great smile, an infectious laugh, and loved good jokes. One of Pat's friends posted this after his death: "A great man and a good friend. You will be missed the rest of my days." Pat will be missed, but memories of him will keep him close in our hearts.

Pat is survived by his sons Tucker and Rehn; sisters Susan (Tim) Austin and Sandy (John) Parry; numerous nieces and nephews; and a legion of friends who will miss his kindness, compassion and humor. Pat was preceded in death by his beloved parents and twin sister, Shan Hammer.

In lieu of flowers, a fund has been set up for Tucker and Rehn Reiley at Sterling Bank. A Celebration of Life Potluck Gathering will be held at the Moses Lake Christian Academy Event Center, Tuesday October 29th, from 5:30 - 7:30.
