Preparedness, health care expo for Royal City planned
ROYAL CITY - There will be a Preparedness and Health Care Expo for the entire community of Royal City on Wednesday, Nov. 6, from 4-8 p.m. at the Red Rock Elementary School Gym.
Grant Hospital District No. 7 (Royal City), the Columbia Basin Herald and Confluence Health are the prime sponsors, GHD7 board member Deb Murphy noted.
"What is good health worth?" Murphy asked. "It is worth everything," she answered.
Yet for many in the community, good health is often just beyond reach. When members of the community receive the right health care at the right time, they have a greater chance to sustain good health at every stage in their lives. Long term health care issues can be avoided, and the overall cost of healthcare is reduced.
"We work with other organizations who share a desire to make positive change," Murphy said. "We can all make a measurable difference in the overall health and preparedness in our communities."
On the preparedness front, Murphy noted not everyone is immune from disaster. There will be a host of agencies from around the state and county to help answer any preparedness questions.
There will be something for everyone at the expo. There will be interpreters for those who do not read or speak English.
There will be free health screenings and lots of information, which include vision, dental, hearing, diabetes, blood pressure, chiropractic massage, and many more.
Vendors will include: Confluence Medical, Grant Integrated Services Fire District No. 10, PUD emergency services, Grant Co. Emergency Services, American Red Cross, Aging & Adult Health Care, Long Term Care, Avalon, Zumba, Dental, Vision, Essential Oils, Nutrition, ACA/Health Insurance Information, Medicare and Medicaid.
