Methodists to open doors for social
ROYAL CITY - After the success of the chili feeds instituted in 2010, Royal City's Methodist Church has decided to inaugurate a second social event.
"People enjoyed the chili feeds so much that they said we needed to have more social events," church spokeswoman Alice Parker said.
The new social event, called simply Open House, will take place on Oct. 26 from 2-5 p.m. at the church. It is located at 305 Royal Rd. NW in Royal City.
"We are inviting all who want to socialize with us as we celebrate the end of harvest," Parker said.
Pie and other deserts will be served, along with coffee, tea, and lemonade.
"The church has had requests, as a result of our annual chili feed, to have more social events so local people can come and visit and socialize with our busy neighbors. The purpose of the Open House is to give friends and neighbors the opportunity to do just that," Parker said.
