Wahluke falls in five to Warden

| October 15, 2013 6:00 AM

MATTAWA - Wahluke nearly won a volleyball match for the first time season last week but was unable to sustain the excellent play of the start against Warden. Warden won, 24-26, 12-25, 26-18, 25-7, 19-17.

"A different team was on the court for games three and four," coach Rudi Christian said. "It was a disappointing night."

Maripaz Olivarez led the Warriors with seven digs, eight kills and three blocks. Morgan Peterson had eight kills and five blocks, and Liliana Ramirez had 11 digs.

In a match with state caliber Kittitas, Wahluke fell again, 22-25, 5-25, 20-25

"The team played so much better games one and three," Christian said. "Their intensity was so much better than Tuesday. Great defense from Lilliana and Maripaz, each getting seven digs."
