Notices sent for property value changes
GRANT COUNTY - The Grant County Assessor's Office notified thousands of property owners about changes to their assessed property value for 2013.
According to Assessor Laure Grammer, notices were mailed last week to nearly 30,000 property owners concerning real property value changes as well as 4,000 more for personal property change of value notices for the 2013 assessment year.
Although property in the county is revalued each year, only those parcels that actually showed a change in value will receive a notice, according to Grammer. The assessed value is to reflect 100 percent of true and fair value.
Property owners who disagree with the True and Fair Value, Current Use Value or Senior Frozen Value have 30 days to file an appeal from the date of the notice to the county Board of Equalization.
Petition forms are available from Jill Hammond, the board clerk, at 509-754-2011, ext. 331. Anyone with questions on the appeal process should also contact Hammond.
