Train collides with bale stacker
WILSON CREEK - A farm equipment operator escaped injury after a BNSF freight train clipped the front of a bale stacker near Wilson Creek Wednesday afternoon.
About 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, emergency personnel responded to a report of a train versus farm equipment collision in the 19700 block of state Route 28 near Wilson Creek.
According to Kyle Foreman with the Grant County Sheriff's Office, the collision occurred on private property at a private crossing. The freight train collided with the front of the bale stacker with the operator inside.
Nobody was injured in the crash and the bale stacker suffered only minor damage, Foreman said.
BNSF is still investigating the cause of the collision. Foreman said there are railroad crossing signs near the tracks but did not have crossing arms or flashing lights.
