Doris E. Stone

Doris E. Stone, long time resident of Moses Lake, left peacefully to be with the Lord, September 17,2013 at Golden Meadows Adult Family Home in Seattle,WA, near family,where she lived the last 9 months of her life. Doris was born in Macon, Georgia, February 23,1923, to Rufus Stone and Mary E. Chesbrough.

She and her family, of military service,moved to Moses Lake, WA from Great Falls, Montana in 1959 .

Doris is survived by her son, Curtis Whitehead Jr. of Seattle, WA, sisters Odeliah Scott, of Charlottesville, Virginia and Edith Roberts of Tampa, Florida, 4 grand children and 4 great grand children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus Stone and Mary Chesbrough, her first husband, Curtis Whitehead Sr. second husband, William Stone, daughter, Dorothy Whitehead Savage, and grandson, Shande Whitehead.

Doris enjoyed attending church and was a member of New Bride Missionary Baptist Church in Moses Lake Blessed with Pastors Ronnie and Carolyn Williamson. Appreciation to her dear and devoted friends and neighbors, Helen Gordon , Dave and Judy Campbell, for all their support thru the years. Not to leave out her excellent care givers, Siony and Luz, who treated her like a "Queen".

Doris lived a long and satisfying life and survived longer than expected. She was very independent, strong minded and loved by everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by family and friends and her spirit will forever be in our hearts.
