Colleen "Coco" Garrison, 75, a longtime Moses Lake resident passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013 at home surrounded by loving family. A Celebration of her life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, October 19, 2013 at the Moses Lake Eagle's Lodge #2622, 1517 W. Broadway (765-3312). Colleen was born January 19, 1937 in Long Beach, California to Robert McMahon and Evelyn (Klein) McMahon. Colleen later moved with her parents to Seattle for a short time and then to Vancouver, Washington for a few years, where Colleen's father worked on power line construction and later to Ephrata, Washington. Colleen attended junior high and high school in Ephrata, graduating in 1955. Then Colleen met and married Don Garrison from Moses Lake, Washington continuing their lives together for the next 58 years having three children, six grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. While still in high school, Colleen worked for Sprouse Reitz. After graduating, she worked for House Laundry for 2 years, for Tri-State Outfitters for approximately 10 years, then 12 years at Carnation Company, and several years at the VFW as a bartender, where Colleen enjoyed her association with veterans. Colleen was a member of the Eagles, Moose, Elks, VFW, and the American Legion. Colleen also enjoyed camping, fishing, darts, and cooking for family gatherings and holidays. Colleen was active in Little League, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and the Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Colleen was preceded in death by her sister Ethel (Pat) Cannon, mother Evelyn Sperry; brother Ron (Chuck) McMahon; and father Robert McMahon.
Colleen is survived by her husband of 58 years, Don Garrison; sons Rod (Lori) Garrison, and Bob (Dessie) Garrison; daughter Dawn (Patrick) Moore; brothers Rick McMahon and Dennis (Heidi) Weston; 6 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
