MOSES LAKE - The Lakeview Missionary Church will be opening its clothes closet to anyone who needs clothes from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, 810 South Evergreen Dr. The church also distributes clothes from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. each Wednesday.

"Anyone from the community is welcome to come in and take any clothing items they may need free of charge," Pastor Matt Baughman said. The congregation started the clothing program in April, he said.

The church has been accepting donations of clothing to keep the closet full, he said, and there's been a good response. The response has been so good, he said, that church members decided to have the one-time Saturday distribution to get some of the excess clothes circulating in the community.

"There's some good stuff in there," Baughman said. But some stuff doesn't make the cut. "We wanted to make it free, but we also wanted to make it good," he said.

Donations can be left at the church during the Wednesday distribution, during the Saturday event, or by appointment, Baughman said. Operators are looking for clean clothes in good condition, he said, and with winter approaching they're looking for winter clothes and jackets.

People can make an appointment to donate or get more information by contacting Baughman at the church, 509-765-5270.
