Rough season opener for Warrior booters

| October 3, 2013 6:00 AM

MATTAWA - Wahluke Warrior soccer got off to a slow start last week with a 5-0 loss to Highland in the season opener.

The Scotties came into the contest with four games of preseason action under their belts. The Warriors were just starting out.

"We will be looking forward and learning as we move through these tough non-league games," coach Arthur deVictoria said.

One bright spot for the Warriors was the play Sujeily Ruiz in the net. She posted 16 saves.

"Fatima Romero had a player of the match game for Wahluke," deVictoria said.
