Annual spaghetti feed set
DESERT AIRE - The Desert Aire Citizens Patrol will have its annual fund raising spaghetti feed this Friday, Oct. 4, at the Sagebrush Senior Center in Desert Aire.
The Desert Air Sagebrush Senior Center is located at 441 Desert Aire Drive North in Desert Aire.
The annual dinner raises money for the support of the citizens patrol at Desert Aire. It is the largest fundraiser for the patrol.
"It helps with the cost of fuel and oil for the drivers and for the radios the drivers and the base operators use, which also includes the cost for repairs and replacement of old radios," dinner organizer Valerie Carter said.
The Desert Aire Citizens Patrol, which has about 25 active members, provides free security services for all of Desert Aire, mostly at night but sometimes during the day.
"We go around checking doors on houses to make sure they are locked when people are gone, especially to Arizona in the wintertime," said President Mike Wolff. "We make sure the administration building, the bathrooms on the golf course and other buildings at the golf course are secured."
