MOSES LAKE - Craft enthusiasts were able to peruse items at Our Lady of Fatima's first-annual craft bazaar this weekend.

The event was organized by parish member Anita Reyna, who was pleased with how the event turned out.

"It's been really nice," she said.

Reyna took donations from each vendor who participated in the bazaar and the church was able to raise about $500 to go toward religious education.

"I support our youth group 100 percent," she said.

Reyna felt the size of the bazaar, about 15 vendors, allowed her to run the event successfully. In the future, she said if the event increases in size she would need more help.

Reyna visited other craft bazaars in the area to draw inspiration for Our Lady of Fatima's and felt the church did a good job of hosting the event and hopes it will continue in the future.

"Hopefully this will be the beginning of an annual tradition," she said.

Those in attendance were asked to bring a can of soup to donate to the church's soup kitchen. The kitchen is open to the community on Thursdays.
