MLWC first at Basin Brawl

MOSES LAKE - Athletes from across the Northwest descended on Moses Lake for the first annual Basin Brawl Wrestling Tournament.

The Moses Lake Wrestling Club (MLWC) hosted 319 wrestlers from ages 4-18 who represented a total of 61 clubs. Over the weekend, the Moses Lake Wrestling Club, comprised of 42 youth wrestlers, was able to clinch first place with a total of 527 points.

Moses Lake High School's wrestling team, head coach Jaime Garza and team parents worked with the MLWC to put on a successful tournament. Volunteers helped referee matches as well as provide support for the event. The high school's wrestling team has mentored the youth wrestlers in the club and given them role models to look up to.

The Moses Lake Wrestling Club is currently participating in USA Wrestling Association Tournaments across the county and will compete in the Washington State Little Guy Program in March and April.

Second place - Kaleb Hernandez, Anthony Martinez, Eriloy Moreno, Sebastian Rocha-Hernandez, Cruz Vasquez, and Maximus Holmes Zamora.

Third place - Jayden Adame, Brock Clark, Jeremiah Martinez, Dominic Martinez, Kiki Martinez, Beau Mauseth, Benjamin Medina, Eduardo Rodriguez, and Sebastian Rodriguez.

Fourth place - Drayden Gaither, Tyson Mogan, Jonathan Tanguma, Ryker Vail, and Duane Zamora.

Fifth place - Jasiah Adame, CJ Balderas, William Bennett, Bianca Johnson (injury), Brady Klueber, Calob Martinez, Ashley Naranjo, Krystopher Perez, Addisen Reeves, Joseph Serrano, and Jonathan Tanguma.

Sixth place - Oakley Ashe, Greg Anthony Gutierrez (injury), Jared Naranjo, and Gavyn Rodriguez.
