NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT AN OPEN RECORD PUBLIC HEARING WILL BE HELD December 2, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. in the Grant County Commissioners Hearing Room, Courthouse, Ephrata, WA in the matter of considering increasing the tax revenue from 2012 for 2013 in order to discharge the expected expenses and obligations of Grant County in conjunction with the General Fund and County Road Fund, pursuant to RCW 84.55.120.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT AN OPEN RECORD PUBLIC HEARING WILL BE HELD December 2, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. in the Grant County Commissioners Hearing

Room, Courthouse, Ephrata, WA in the matter of considering increasing the tax revenue from 2012 for 2013 in order to discharge the expected expenses and obligations of Grant County in conjunction with the General Fund and County Road Fund, pursuant to RCW 84.55.120.

Provisions of Washington State RCW 84.55.092 allow a taxing jurisdiction to levy taxes in an amount no more than the limit factor multiplied by the highest levy since 1986 plus additional amounts resulting from new construction, improvements to property, newly constructed wind turbines, any increase in state assessed utility value, any annexations that have occurred and refunds made. The limit factor for a tax jurisdiction with a population of 10,000 or over is the lesser of 101 percent or 100 percent plus inflation. Taxes levied by Grant County in 2012 for 2013 collection may increase by 1 percent above the highest levy since 1986 plus additional amounts resulting from new construction, improvements to property, newly constructed wind turbines, any increase in state assessed utility value, any annexations that have occurred and refunds made.

Pursuant to the provisions of RCW 84.55.092 and RCW 84.55.120, the Board of County Commissioners must consider at a duly advertised public hearing increasing the property tax revenue from 2012 for 2013 collection in order to discharge the expected expenses and obligations of Grant County in conjunction with the General Fund and the Road Fund.

The purpose of the above scheduled public hearing is for the Board of County Commissioners to consider public testimony and take action on increasing the property tax revenue for 2012 for 2013 collection in order to discharge the expected expenses and obligations of Grant County in conjunction with the General and Road Funds as follows:

• $1,658,981.00 increase for the General Fund, which is an 11.207072% increase over the highest levy since 1986 plus additional amounts listed above, and

• $73,392.00 increase for the Road Fund, which is a 0.872854% increase over the highest levy since 1986 plus additional amounts listed above.
