Arthur "Art" W. Moat, III

| November 21, 2013 5:00 AM

Arthur "Art" W. Moat, III, 48, a resident of Moses Lake passed away Thursday, November 14, 2013 at his home following a brief illness.

Art was born on November 20, 1964 in Hayward, California, son of the late Arthur W. Moat, II and the late Violet Moat. After graduation from high school, he moved to Arizona with his first wife and daughter where he graduated with honors from Diesel Mechanic School. He then returned to the San Francisco Bay Area and years later met and married his second wife, Teri, on July 27, 2002. In 2005, they moved to Moses Lake to be near Teri's family. While living here, he worked at AAA Ready Mix, Central Washington Asphalt and recently at North Central Construction driving a water truck, where he made many friends. Art was a happy, friendly and outgoing person who easily made friends everywhere he went.

Art enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed playing with his dogs and taking them to the lake to swim. He loved to make people smile and laugh by telling them jokes (he had more than anyone could keep track of). He also liked to help people work on their vehicles.

Art is survived by his wife Teri Moat; daughter, Jessica of Mesa, Arizona; first wife, Tracey of Mesa, Arizona; brother, Chris Moat, El Dorado Hills, California; aunt, Suzi Dunlop of Martinez, California.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 516 E. Nelson Road, Moses Lake. Please sign the online guestbook or leave a note for the family at www.kayserschapel.com. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory, Moses Lake.
