Two injured in SR 17 crash in Moses Lake

MOSES LAKE - Two people were injured when a Moses Lake driver reportedly ran a red light on state Route 17 Tuesday in Moses Lake.

About 8:40 a.m., Dale E. Schoessler, 61, of Othello, was stopped at a red light on South Pioneer Way in a 2014 International truck.

When the light turned green, he proceeded through the intersection. That's when his vehicle was struck by a black Chevrolet S10 pickup, driven by Brian F. Martin, 47.

According to the State Patrol, Martin failed to stop at the red light as he was heading north on SR 17.

Both Martin and Schoessler were injured and transported to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

Martin was cited for failure to stop at a red light.
