Minor Bottorff

Minor Bottorff was born in Phillips County, Arkansas on May 27, 1926, and passed away peacefully at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center, in Spokane on November 9, 2013.

Minor was raised on a family cotton farm in Arkansas by his parents, Fred and Mazie Bottorff.

During World War II he served in the U.S. Army Asian/Pacific Theater-Philippine Liberation. After his Army discharge he moved west to Kennewick to work on the Hanford Project. He married Yvonne Hooker in 1948, and they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in August of this year.

Minor and Yvonne moved to Moses Lake in 1955 where he was an industrial painting contractor. He spent several years working in the Alaska Oil Refineries at Prudoe Bay. Minor had a passion for hunting and fishing, spending many happy hours on the Columbia and Snake Rivers and area lakes. Being an avid hunter, he finished a fulfilling hunting trip three weeks prior to his death. He experienced some adventurous hunting and fishing trips in Canada and Alaska. Minor was an associate member of the Grant County Rodeo Association and a member of New Beginnings Christian Center.

He is survived by his wife Yvonne, son and daughter-in-law, Dave and Jan Bottorff, of Moses Lake; daughter, Terri Constance of West Richland; son-in-law, Gene Black of Moses Lake; grandchildren, Jody Bortz, Bob Harris, Lexi (Josh) McCloy, Breanna Bottorff, Chris, Nick, and Neil Constance; and eight great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mazie and Fred Bottorff; brothers, Riley and Fred; and daughter, Carol Black.

A public graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at Pioneer Memorial Gardens. Remembrances can be made by signing the online guest book at www.carverfamilyfuneralhome.com
