PROJECT: To improve the Burkett Lake Recreation Area

Notice is hereby given that a JARPA (Shoreline Substantial Development) application were received by Grant County on October 18, 2013 from Public Utility District of Grant County No. 2 (Grant PUD), (Contact: Debbie Knaub, PO Box 878, Ephrata, WA 98823); and was found to be Technically Complete on October 30, 2013. PROJECT: To improve the Burkett Lake Recreation Area, including: 1) Demolition and removal of select existing site features; 2) Access road improvements (new access drive on east side of lake); 3) Vehicle turn-around; 4) ADA accessible single vault toilet; 5) Vehicular barriers; 6) Recreation trails, including one with an interpretive sign; 7) Vegetation enhancements; 8) Regulatory, wayfinding, and interpretive signage; 9) Security gate. ADDITIONAL PERMITS: None SHORELINE DESIGNATION: Conservancy. CONSISTENCY STATEMENT: This proposal is subject to and shall be consistent with Grant County Code, International Building Code, and International Fire Code. LOCATION: The project site is located at Burkett Lake. There is no street address, but the project area is an existing parking/recreation area. The project area is located SE of Beverly, Washington and is located approximately 1 mile east of the Columbia River. The site can be accessed from Lower Crab Creek Road. The site is located in the southern half of Section 35, Township 16 North, Range 23 East, W.M., Grant County, WA. Parcel #15-0296-000; 15-0300-003; 15-0299-000. ZONING: Open Space Conservation. Box 37, Ephrata WA 98823, (509) 754-2011 extension 620; office hours are 8am – 12pm and 1pm – 5pm, Monday – Friday. Comments must be submitted no later than 5pm December 12, 2013 to the Planning Department. All comments should be as specific as possible and may be mailed, hand delivered or sent by facsimile. All persons, agencies or tribes have the right to comment, receive notice, participate in any hearings, request a copy of the final decision, and appeal the decision as provided by law and County Code.
