Royal loses in final two matches

ROYAL CITY - The Royal Knights played two of the tougher teams in SCAC East volleyball last week and completed their season with two losses in which they played up to the competition.
The home game, against Warden, was a pink out contest in recognition of breast cancer awareness. All players and fans were asked to wear pink.
Although they lost, the Knights played an inspired contest. They came within two points of victory in the second and third games falling 14-25, 26-28, 25-27.
"A great crowd for the match," coach Paul Olsufka said. "It was a pink out game, where we asked everyone to dress in pink, and we collected some money to donate. We want to thank everyone for supporting the girls all season."
The contest was highlighted by the all-around play of Rebecca Lee. She went 15-15 serving with one ace, three kills and three digs.
Lindsey Small served 11-11 with one ace, one kill and five digs. Seila Jenks went 10-10 serving with one ace, 10 assists and two kills.
Gracelynn Miller served 13-14 with five aces and five digs, and Kayla Smith had five kills and five digs.
The Royal girls also played tough against Ki-Be. They came close in the first game and won the second game in a 19-25, 25-16, 15-25, 14-25 contest.
Small led the way with nine kills and 13 digs. She served 14-14 and scored two aces. Smith had eight kills with nine digs and two blocks.
Jenks went 15-16 serving with four aces, 15 assists, nine digs and three kills. Allie Janett served 12-13 with two aces, two kills and four digs.
Lee went 9-10 serving with one ace, two kills, eight digs and one block. Gracelynn Miller had seven digs.
