Readers pleased with Columbia Basin entertainment

| November 8, 2013 5:00 AM

The month of October has been a great month for entertainment in the Columbia Basin. It started off with Premier Performances on October 15 with the Johnny Cash tribute, Ring of Fire, and was a sold out performance. On October 19 at the Ephrata Senior Center Bonnie Guitar made her appearance, also standing room only. At ninety years young, she put on a show that went on for four straight hours, without a break, and she didn't want people to leave when she did take a break.

Then there was the Columbia Basin Theater production of "The Marvelous Wonderettes" featuring pop music. It stared four local female performers who were competing for their 1958 High School Prom Queen. The second act was at their ten year reunion. For those of you, who missed the show, shame on you. These four ladies sang and performed at a high degree of talent that was second to none. We did not know any of the staff and but take off our hats to Debbie Roeber, Treva Reichert, April Porter and Melanie Moody.

What sent the crowd into fits was went Melanie Moody, who showed up at the ten year reunion at least nine months expecting, and put on a display that all women who were ever expecting a baby, could appreciate and understand what she was going through. She was hilarious.

Thank you to all the support staff and production crew for a job well done and appreciated be those who attended the shows.
