Community Thanksgiving meal planned by church

| November 8, 2013 5:00 AM

ROYAL CITY – New Life Fellowship Church of Royal City is planning a community Thanksgiving dinner, and the entire Royal Slope is invited.

The dinner will be held at noon on Sunday, Nov. 24, at the church, next to the park at 117 Camelia St. The actual Thanksgiving Holiday will be on Nov. 28.

“It's a time to remember many of the things God has done,” Pastor Randal Dick said. “New Life is thankful for you, our neighbors and our friends.”

The dinner could be quite an undertaking. More than 100 people came to the Easter feast last spring, and no attendance limit will be placed for Thanksgiving.

The dinner will be served an hour after the end of regular Sunday worship service. Volunteers will set up and decorate the dining area.

“The community is not required to attend the service,” Dick said. “Their focus should be the meal and fellowship.

The dinner will include a 20-minute program of entertainment. Selected children and adults will share their stories of thanksgiving.
