MOSES LAKE - The man suspected of stealing money from the Glass House Car and Dog Wash Nov. 1 was arrested Thursday.

It happened after officers tracked him down with the help of tips from residents.

Alex Tauveve, 49, of Moses Lake, was booked into Grant County Jail Thursday night on suspicion of second-degree burglary and second-degree theft for allegedly stealing at least $600 from the Stratford Road business, then running his vehicle through the car wash before leaving, according to previous reports.

Officers received several tips on the day of the incident and were able to identify the suspect as Tauveve. Officers had since been regularly checking the addresses he is associated with, according to police reports.

Officers found Tauveve in the 1000 block of North Stratford Road about 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

Car wash owner Travis Palmer said there were about 14,000 hits on social media sites from Moses Lake-area residents within the first few hours after Palmer shared the incident with local media.

Video surveillance from the car wash and a nearby business captured the alleged suspect walking into the business while employees were out washing cars.

He reportedly left the building, then returned to his Jeep to run it through the car wash.
