Festival of Trees set for Dec. 7

| November 3, 2013 5:00 AM

MOSES LAKE – The annual Habitat for Humanity Festival of Trees dinner and auction have been scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Moses Lake Event Center.

The festivities will start at 5:30 pm with registration, the silent auction, social hour and hors d’oeuvres. There will be a short presentation followed by dinner and the live auction, which includes beautifully decorated Christmas trees. Most of the trees will come with gifts underneath.

The Moses Lake Event Center is part of the Moses Lake Christian Academy. The dinner will be catered by Michael’s on the Lake.

All proceeds from this event go toward Habitat for Humanity's mission of eliminating substandard housing in the community.

Donations and volunteers are being sought for the Festival of Trees. Items for the live and silent auctions are needed as well as individuals or businesses to decorate trees.

“The success of the fundraiser depends on the generosity of individuals and businesses in our community,” spokesperson Michaelle Boetger said.

You may show your support for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Moses Lake by calling Jeremy at 509-770-1005 for tickets, for a sponsorship package, to donate items for the auction or to make a monetary donation toward a new home.

Habitat encourages individuals, couples and businesses to purchase single tickets or a table of tickets. Tickets are $65 per person, $125 per couple or $450 for a table of eight.

“The decorated trees will look beautiful in anyone’s home or in the office during the holiday season,” Boetger said.

If you are unable to attend the event but would like to purchase a tree for your home or office, you may call Jeremy at 770-1005 for more information. You can also get more information, as well as purchase tickets, and trees online at www.habitatmoseslake.org.
