ROYAL CITY - If you've ever wanted to honor veterans in your family in a special way, the Royal High School leadership class is offering an opportunity.

Royal High School will recognize veterans with an assembly on Thursday, Nov. 7. The actual national Veterans Day holiday will be celebrated on Monday, Nov. 11.

Royal High School librarian Susan Piercy's leadership class is asking members of the community to participate by bringing or mailing pictures that may be posted on a wall of honor.

"We're asking for pictures of veterans related to RHS students or staff, former students of RHS who are veterans, or any who are currently serving in the armed forces," Piercy said.

You are encouraged to email pictures to Susan Piercy at [email protected] or drop them off at the High School library. Please include identification and a brief message about the veteran's military career.

Photos will be scanned so they may be placed on a Wall of Honor, and the originals will be returned to the sender.

"Permission to use Facebook images of your vets or service members would also be useful," Piercy said.
