Quincy woman defends Naigle-Martin

| November 1, 2013 6:00 AM

In reference to recent letters in local newspapers that made allegations against Patty Naigle-Martin who is challenging the Quincy mayor, I wish I could address each item, but due to word limitation, I will focus on only one which a pet peeve of mine.

The Army NCO Creed which was enacted three years before I joined the military, states "I will not use my grade or position to attain pleasure, profit, or personal safety."

Over time I simplified it to "personal gain or self interest."

I've known of Patty for decades because in school she was only one grade up from me.

When I was running for City Council, my opponent and I were included in on meetings and such. During this time, I recall we were in a convoy to a water treatment facility near Othello. I was in the same vehicle as Patty.

I recall also attending an Aqua Center development meeting. Patty and the Park and Recreation Committee rep were working on the AC's design. This was when it was just a swimming pool. During this time, I got to know Patty, her philosophy and ethics toward people.

There's nothing I have seen where she has profited in any way when she was a servant of the people.

Show me proof to support the allegations.

While you're searching for non-existing documents, I'm voting for Patty Naigle-Martin to be the next mayor of Quincy.
